A Wandering Soul

Am I losing my mind to the delusional idea of being a writer?
Why a writer? I have no idea.
I’ve been influenced immensely by books throughout my life. A few books shaped who I am today, and I am thankful to all the writers. From a very young age, I have always been fascinated by the idea of writing books for others to read and benefit from.
Maybe this is my way of giving back to society?
I don’t consciously think when I write. I just write whatever comes to mind and edit at the end, to make the thoughts flow coherently.
When I write down a question on paper and keep on writing, I get the answers, most of the time. Strange!
Sometimes it feels like someone is dictating the words to me, and I am simply writing them.
Aren’t writers the medium of something we don’t understand?
I call this an outlier perception - an experience that’s difficult to explain to those who never experienced it. Perhaps it’s not just the experience itself, but also the meaning we associate with it.
For example, have you ever questioned why we so often associate good things with light and bad things with darkness?
All the light we see is temporary. A blip in the timeline of the universe. Darkness fills most of the universe, most of the time.
Yet, we made light a symbol of goodness and darkness a symbol of evil. Why make a temporary phenomenon superior to a permanent one?
Have you ever sat in complete darkness?
In the middle of the night, when the lights are out, and the world is quiet, what do you feel?
Stay in the darkness whenever possible. You may even find it peaceful. Maybe, light is a distraction.
Light - objective experiences; easy to explain and agree upon.
Darkness - subjective experiences; an outlier perception.
